A commemorative book, prepared to honor the 80th birthday of Professor Władysław Duczko, a distinguished Polish archaeologist working in Sweden and Poland, who passed away in 2025. The texts, authored by the professor's colleagues and associates, cover a wide range of his scholarly interests, from early medieval Scandinavia, the history of Central and Eastern Europe, and Byzantium, through the study of silver ornaments and treasures, to contemporary archaeology. The book also contains a comprehensive scholarly biography of Professor Duczko, along with a bibliography of his works, two unpublished texts by the professor himself, and some memories of him by family, friends and students.
