This issue is the first edition of the journal under the new title International Journal of Belarusian Glottodidactics (formerly Belarusian as a Foreign Language). Terminology differs across languages, so the initial article clarifies what is understood by Belarusian Glottodidactics, its history, and its achievements.
This academic journal, dedicated to Belarusian studies, contains articles covering a wide range of linguistic, cultural, and didactic research. Topics include glottodidactics, teaching of Belarusian as a native, inherited, revived, or foreign language, the use of folk songs in teaching Slavic languages, development of listening comprehension skills, and preparing for certification language exams. The authors also address the methodology of using audiovisual teaching aids in secondary schools, analyze Belarusian language learning materials for English speakers, and present the work of research institutes such as the Belarusian Institute in Prague. Publications combine theoretical and practical approaches, contributing to the promotion of the Belarusian language and culture both in Belarus and abroad.
