Cultural Studies Problems in Polish Glottodidactics
Cultural Studies Problems in Polish Glottodidactics The publication attempts to identify selected areas of cultural studies knowledge which, in the author's opinion, are important for the needs of teaching one's own language, defined as a foreign language. The research is aimed at recognizing and pointing out related humanities disciplines that have a – not always obvious and not always clearly recognizable – influence on the formation and development of the methodology of teaching Polish to foreigners. This methodology, according to the writer, is based on two core pillars. The first is its obvious interdisciplinarity, the constant need to draw experience from related disciplines – linguistics, history, literature, social sciences or cultural studies in general. The second – the need to remain in constant relations with the culture (usually national) of the linguistic community, built by the natural speakers of a given language.
Keywords: Polish studies glottodidactics, cultural studies, lesson models, ethnolinguistics, anthropology of the word
