Heroic, Realistic and Therapeutic. War Narratives in Ukrainian Popular Literature
The book analyzes contemporary Ukrainian war genre in prose, showing its role in building community, strengthening national identity, and shaping collective memory in the context of the ongoing conflict. The author examines decolonization strategies, the affirmation of Ukrainian tradition and statehood, and the creation of a heroic-patriotic imaginary opposed to Russian cultural and political patterns. The publication shows that popular literature serves not only an entertainment function, but also an important social and integrative one, supporting the sense of agency, dignity and solidarity of Ukrainian society.
