The monograph presents the development of the institution of the aggregated punishment in the Polish criminal law from 1932 to 2023, analysing its prerequisites, interpretation problems, and legislative changes. It includes the matters of the aggregated sentence, intertemporal issues, and the influence of the case law and doctrine. It also compares the Polish aggregated punishment model with the solutions applied in the common law system in the countries of the former USSR, Germany, Austria, France, and Spain.
