W tomie zgromadzono 20 artykułów nawiązujących do szerokiego obszaru zainteresowań naukowych Profesor Kalagi, który obejmuje m.in. problemy pogranicza etnicznego i kulturowego między wschodnim i zachodnim odłamem Słowiańszczyzny, dzieje wschodniego Mazowsza i Podlasia, a przede wszystkim badania nad obrządkiem pogrzebowym oraz osadnictwem wschodniej Polski.

This volume of Światowit is dedicated to Professor Joanna Eugenia Kalaga, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the development of medieval archaeology. The volume brings together 20 articles reflecting the broad scope of Professor Kalaga’s research interests, which includes the ethnic and cultural borderlands between the eastern and western branches of the Slavs, the history of eastern Mazovia and Podlasie, and, above all, research into burial rites and settlement in eastern Poland.
