Issue 109 of Studia Iuridica is devoted to the issue of non-human legal personhood, with a particular focus on environmental entities. This phenomenon poses a challenge to the traditional, Western model of legal personhood. The publication focuses on theoretical aspects, comparative legal perspectives, as well as legislative practice. The authors of the articles address fundamental questions regarding the characteristics that determine legal personhood and the extent to which nature can be treated as an independent subject.
