Notes from a Calendar: The Life of a Warsaw Family, 1944
The book contains a full transcription of notes from a 1944 calendar preserved in the family archive of Zofia Boglewska-Hulanicka. Day by day, first the father and after his death his son – Henryk and Jerzy Kłodecki, who lived in the Warsaw district of Mokotów – recorded current events in the city and family matters. This is an account of the period of the occupation and the Warsaw Uprising as seen through the eyes of an ordinary family who did not take part in the fighting. The source text has been supplemented with archival photographs and accompanied by an introduction and an afterword by Zofia Boglewska-Hulanicka, in which she discusses the history and family connections of the people featured in the book.
