Masters of American Literature
The series, initiated by the Department of North American Culture and Literature at the University of Warsaw's Institute of English Studies, presents the work of outstanding contemporary writers from the United States and important phenomena on the American literary scene. In terms of concept and form, it refers to publications popular in Great Britain and the USA in the genre of so-called companions. It is addressed not only to academic audiences, but also to a wider group of readers who would like to deepen their knowledge about authors and trends that interest them, but feel that there is a shortage of sources in Polish.
- The author presents the mechanisms of shaping the cultural identity of the Kurpies – a community inhabiting the forested area of north-eastern Mazovia since the second half of the 17th century. The key research category was family and collective memory
