Social Customs of Contemporary Japan

Therefore, these are behaviours and attitudes included in norms and formulas in specific life situations (e.g. at home, at work, in public transport), customs and rituals that are repetitive in the annual cycle (feasts and rites of passage), as well as patterns of thinking and specific visions of reality.

Keywords: everyday life, culture of daily practices, customs, festivals, rites of passage, communication culture, models of masculinity and femininity, etiquette, norms of politeness, mental culture, value system, Japan.
