From Faras to … Not Only Excavations – Talks with Archeologists (and One Architect)

Talks conducted by Emil Marat present readers with of the figures of outstanding Polish researchers who worked at many important archaeological sites. Stefan Jakobielski participated in legendary excavations in Faras and in Dongola. Włodzimierz Godlewski was also present in Dongola. Michał Gawlikowski was head of research in Palmyra. Karol Myśliwiec has had a great scientific career culminating in discoveries in Saqqara. Piotr Bieliński has worked at the archeological sites in Syria, Iraq and Persian Gulf countries. Architect Wojciech Kołątaj carried out spectacular reconstruction works in Alexandria. The interviewees tell why they devoted their lives to archeology, what the beginnings of their careers were and which of their discoveries and achievements are most important to them.
