Truman Capote (EBOOK)

In his day, Truman Capote was among the most renowned American writers, and although the fascination with his legend lasts, the same cannot quite be said about the interest in his writing. Capote was a tragic figure, a genius of self-creation and a celebrity, and such an image has been perpetuated in the popular imagination by films devoted to the writer, made over the past two decades. He is remembered mainly as the author of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and In Cold Blood, the latter work having been considered a cornerstone of New Journalism, which described real events with the use of literary techniques. Reflecting the inseparability of Capote’s life and work, the present volume primarily aims to reappraise his literary achievement.
