The current issue of ‘Barok’ 61/62 (2024) is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Juliusz A. Chrościcki, editor-in-chief of the journal and researcher of modern art and culture. The issue features articles and dissertations in Polish, Italian, English and Spanish, commemorating the deceased and referring to various issues in art history and literature that were of interestto the professor.

The authors of the works looked at, among other things, the situation of Protestant tapestry makers working for Sigismund Augustus at Wawel, the printed account of the marriage of Maria Gonzaga de Nevers to King Władysław IV, the unusual case of the ‘Orphan Column’ monument in the village of Chojny, the catafalque from Żelechów, the Moscow crowns of thePolish Vasa dynasty, scenes from the life of Felix de Valois in 17th and 18th century art, images of the Pac family in museums in Smolensk and Warsaw, and portraits painted by Francis Boucher for Polish kings and magnates.

In the field of architecture, articles present Vincenz Scamozzi's artistic contacts with Poland, Italian inspirations in the patronage of Prince Jerzy Ossoliński, and the palace and garden complexes in Wiśnicz and Tschifflik.
