The book is devoted to the pioneering pedagogical activity of blessed Edmund Bojanowski, social activist, poet, folklorist, founder of the Congregation of the Sisters Servants of the Blessed Virgin Mary and organizer of the first kindergartens for the village children in Europe. The publication also shows the activity of the congregation during WW II and in the difficult years of communism in Poland. It also presents some aspects of the functioning of the kindergartens run nowadays in accordance with the principles formulated by Bojanowski.
