The senses in the aging process
The publication is an innovative conceptualization of the issue of the aging processes of the senses. The authors describe changes taking place as time goes by, which involve sight, hearing, balance, touch, taste, and smell, as well as dental, orthodontic and phoniatric problems and the premature aging of the senses in genetically determined diseases. These topics are supplemented by a description of the anatomy and the aging of the brain and the senses from the perspective of psychiatry. The authors of the chapters are specialists from disciplines such as geriatrics, laryngology, logopaedics, ophthalmology, dentistry and psychiatry.
