Animal Gardens. Old Polish Game Reserves and Menageries
The publication discusses landscape parks serving as game reserves and menageries, which were established in the old Polish Republic thanks to the royal or aristocratic foundations. The author presents the issue of animal collections referring to similar gardens in Europe, both Americas, Asia and Africa. She analyses Polish economic and zoological literature and explores the transformation of living organisms into museum exhibits.
