The issue is devoted to Janusz Korczak and his work and achievements presented from a theoretical and practical perspective. Joanna Madalińska-Michalak and Marek Michalak, the volume editors, invited outstanding experts on Korczak to contribute: Barbara Smolińska-Theiss, Wiesław Theiss, Maria Czerepaniak-Walczak, Marek Konopczyński, Moshe Shner, Bogusław Śliwerski, Ewa Jarosz, Avi Tsur, Batia Gilad, Anna Kamińska-Malandain, Agnieszka Naumiuk, Barbara Sochal, Wojciech Lasota and Adam Solak.
The articles in the issue highlight the richness of Korczak’s pedagogical thought and show how it can be used in transformations that lead to fulfilling everyone’s fundamental right to education and building a more sustainable, inclusive, and peaceful future. The authors paid special attention to analyzing Korczak’s ideas in the context of current educational, social, cultural, and geopolitical realities. They also proposed changes and directions for the modernization of selected areas of reality in order to design a future world that will be friendly to children and all of us.
