Climate Change – Getting the Basics Right
Climate Change – Getting the Basics Right is a compendium of reliable information on climate change, created as the initiative of scientists working at the University of Warsaw. Its authors are experts from a number of academic centers, working in various fields of science. The result is a textbook that is easy to read and interdisciplinary, as is the problem of climate change. The issues covered in this book are linked to such traditional school subjects as physics, chemistry, biology (including ecology), geography, psychology and social sciences.
The book is divided into four parts that presenting the mechanisms (Part 1) and causes (Part 2) of climate change, the consequences of this process for life on our planet (Part 3), and the actions we can take to prevent the most negative effects of climate change (Part 4).
The book is aimed at university students interested in better understanding the basics of climate change, regardless of their field of study, as well as teachers and high school students, and anyone looking for inspiration for appropriate action.
