Ukrainian in Diplomacy and Politics. Student’s Manual
A manual for classes of professional communication in diplomacy and politics. The subjects covered include inaugural addresses by presidents, parliamentary speeches, interpellations and questions, and election campaign materials. Also discussed are selected examples of political party programmes, resolutions of the Supreme Council of Ukraine, and laws. The subject matter of diplomacy is represented by text concerning the diplomatic protocol and etiquette, consular services, as well as an ambassador’s address and a diplomatic note. All texts feature the most widely used diplomatic and political terminology, professional lexis, and grammatical constructions characteristic of literary language. Particular attention has been paid to practicing communicational skills and habits.
