Time and place meetings. Studies on memory and cities
The book discusses the problems of collective remembering in contact with urban space, expressed through media based on words and images. Visual and textual potential of "time and place meeting" is traced in theoretical dissertations, fiction literature and films. Common denominator of the seven scientific essays is the question about the consequences of modernity changes for the development of cultural memory. The answers are formulated on the basis of Polish, German and Polish-German case studies derived from the literary and film repertoire of Gdańsk, Wrocław and Berlin.
