This interdisciplinary issue of the quarterly, titled Forms of Presence: Polish Literature in Italy after 1945, is the result of work by Italianists from both Italian and Polish academic centers. Employing a wide range of research perspectives, they reveal the resonances and rhythms of Polish literature’s existence in Italy after World War II. The collected texts form a rich panorama of interpretations and define the status of Polish literature and culture in Italy. They contribute to philology understood broadly as a community of spirit.
