Fact: A Semantic Study
In the times of fake news and post-truth, the question of what facts actually are becomes particularly important. This monograph is devoted to the syntax and semantics of Polish expressions containing the noun fakt (fact), as well as an analysis of the meaning of its selected derivates. The author engages in a critical dialogue with the latest subject literature, adopting a more insightful approach to the controversy related to the title issue. The book develops key discussion issues, and the notion of fact is compared with related categories as well as with those which remain opposed to it.
Keywords: language theory, semantics, syntax, epistemic expressions, fact.
