The Light Romantic Mickiewicz
The publication is an attempt to show how Adam Mickiewicz through his spiritual, literary, and intellectual experiences searched for a recipe for a good existence in the world. The author analyses the texts of the poet and their anthropological and existential themes. The “light Romantic project” in the title of the book complements dark Romanticism, fixed in the Polish studies, which accentuates in the characters’ attitude the insanity, melancholy, and all that is dark, irrational and disturbing in the human soul. The book includes reflections indicating Romantics’ longing for a well-organized existence, which can be given the meaning that was also searched for – against the mainstream perspectives of the era – in the tradition, and in the conciliatory and communal attitudes.
Keywords: Adam Mickiewicz, Romanticism, Romantic literature, existentialism, Romantic philosophy.
