The authors describe the role and socio-aesthetic importance of houses décor, with particular emphasis on architectural decoration.
The studies cover a wide geographic area stretching from Magna Graecia, through Cyrenaica and northern Egypt to Cyprus and the coast of Levant, in a wide time spectrum, from the Republican period to Late Antiquity. The structure and content of the entire volume reflect the diverse research methodologies and approaches used by the authors of the presented papers - some of them analyzed global phenomena in the post-Hellenistic world, while others dedicated themselves to meticulous studies on specific archaeological evidence.
