Publikacja omawia aktywność dyplomacji Polskiej Rzeczpospolitej Ludowej w relacjach z Republiką Federalną Niemiec na przykładzie wizyty wicekanclerza i ministra spraw zagranicznych RFN Hansa-Dietricha Genschera. Autor wykorzystuje nieznane dotąd, odtajnione przez Instytut Pamięci Narodowej, akta obrazujące pracę analityczną i operacyjną polskiego Ministerstwa Spraw Wewnętrznych, a także materiały wytworzone przez stronę niemiecką. Diplomacy in the Eyes of Intelligence. The Origin, Course and Results of Hans-Dietrich Genscher’s Visit to the Polish People’s Republic in January 1988 in the Light of the Analytical and Operational Work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – A Case Study

The publication discusses the diplomacy of the Polish People’s Republic in relations with the Federal Republic of Germany on the example of the visit of Vice-chancellor and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the FRG, Hans Dietrich Genscher. The author uses files hitherto unknown and declassified by the Institute of National Remembrance, which show analytical and operational work of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the materials generated by the German side. He describes the process leading to the completion of the diplomatic mission, its course and the analysis of its effects presented in state materials and the press at the time.
