Unbecoming Home. Museum Practices Towards Home Spaces
The book is devoted to house museums – museum institutions established in former private homes. House museums are a special subgenre of biographical museums, i.e. places telling about the lives of people through the space in which they lived and the preserved objects of everyday life. The author analyses a house museum as a museum genre, by asking questions about how the home's museumization process works, what changes occur in its structure and meaning, and what narratives are created in such spaces and how they are constructed.
Keywords: house museums, memory, museums, social practices, historical politics.
