Gothic Brick Architecture in Poland
The author limits the historical and social context as well as the significance and symbolism of “architectural iconography” in favour of the morphological approach, analysis of forms as well as architectural detail. The chronological scope of the publication is wider than the one adopted so far in the study of Gothic architecture: from the Gothic harbingers in Romanesque architecture to the post-Gothic style of the 17th century.
Keywords: Poland, Gothic, brick architecture, history of architecture, history of art.
