Pierwszy fascykuł rocznika obejmuje prezentacje rezultatów polskich badań archeologicznych prowadzonych w sezonach 2012 i 2013 we wschodnim basenie Morza Śródziemnego i na Bliskim Wschodzie, od Cypru po Sudan i od Egiptu po Armenię. Oprócz artykułów opisujących pełen zakres prowadzonych badań, w roczniku zamieszczono również bardziej szczegółowe studia z różnych dziedzin i specjalizacji, od historii sztuki po nauki przyrodnicze. Tę część rocznika uzupełnia kronika pozostałych projektów Centrum Archeologii Śródziemnomorskiej UW przeprowadzonych w wymienionych dwóch sezonach.
W drugiej części rocznika znalazło się 11 artykułów studyjnych o zróżnicowanym charakterze, od omówienia wyników projektu badającego epigonów tradycji lewaluaskich na terenie Sudanu, przez badania nad hodowlą zwierząt i roślin na podstawie makroszczątków z wykopalisk i studiów ikonograficznych, po szereg artykułów analizujących różne kategorie kultury materialnej, takie jak szkło, paciorki, przedmioty z fajansu, monety, pochodzące z wykopalisk Centrum. Wieńczy listę nowe spojrzenie na sztukę łucznictwa w starożytnej Nubii oraz studium zapomnianego towaru o wielkim znaczeniu w starożytności, czyli stali tyglowej pochodzącej z Indii.

The first fascicle of the annual journal on Polish excavations carried out in the Eastern Mediterranean and Near East chronicles Polish archaeological presence in the region, from Cyprus to Sudan and from Egypt to Armenia, in the seasons of 2012 and 2013. The excavated data is presented in the form of general reports and detailed studies encompassing different fields of research, from art history to the nature sciences, supplemented with a brief chronicle of other projects of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology University of Warsaw not represented in the Reports section.
The second part of the volume carries 11 study articles focusing on different aspects of research into the history, economy, culture and material culture of the Ancient Near East, starting with the results of a survey of epigones of the Levallois tradition in the Nile Valley and discussing early animal and plant economies in Ancient Syria based on macrofossils as well as iconographic studies and a series of articles on coins, glass, beads, faience figurines based on finds from PCMA excavations. Completing the list is a text giving new insights into Nubian archery and a review of Indian steel, a forgotten commodity on the great trade routes.
