Empathy, Morality and Social Life
The publication is the first Polish extensive research paper on empathy from the perspective of sociology. In an interesting way it introduces the more specific questions emerging in the borderland of the sociology of the morality, the history of moral ideas and the sociology of emotions. The authors present the theoretical and methodological issues concerning the research of empathy and they give the results of their studies on functioning of empathy in connection with different phenomena from the fields of morality, literature and art as well as with the situation of disabled people, homosexualls, Jews or immigrants.
