Mickiewicz and the Jewish World. A Study with Appendices
The author presents Mickiewicz’s relations with widely defined Judaism, which the poet encountered while living in exile, as well as his interest in Jewish mysticism, literature and culture. A comprehensive study is supplemented by the texts analysing in detail various “Jewish” themes in life and works of Mickiewicz and other Polish Romantics (J. Słowacki, Z. Krasiński, C.K. Norwid, J.I. Kraszewski and M. Czajkowski).
