Reconstruction of the indigenous imaginary in Títulos primordiales of the Nahua people (17th-18th century). Edition and philological study
Transcription and philological study of a text corpus from New Spain known as Títulos primordiales of the indigenous communities of central Mexico. The work is interdisciplinary in nature. Using discourse analysis methodology, the textual structure of the documents under study is reconstructed in relation to the discursive traditions that influenced their creation. Sociological analysis provides insight into the imaginary of the indigenous inhabitants of New Spain, combining discourse and ideology. The last part of the study is devoted to a description of the language of the texts against the background of the history of the Spanish language in the 17th and 18th centuries in its Mexican variant. The analytical part is followed by a critical review of the most important debates on the nature and sociological and historical context of the Nahua community.
Keywords: basic titles, Nahuatl language, Spanish language, Mexico, colonialism.
