A selection of works of one of the most interesting leftist English authors from the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Ahead of his time, Salt addressed the issues of broadly understood social and interspecies justice, the relationship of man to nature, as well as the role of morality and politics in life. The texts collected in this anthology promote the idea of humanitarianism, which can be reduced to the statement that we should treat every sentient being – human or not-human – in a human way.
