The Chronicle of Events in Nysa (1482–1570)
The publication contains a critical edition and Polish translation of the one of the most valuable written accounts of bourgeois chronicling in the 16th century – the chronicle traditionally attributed to Michel Weber from Nysa, a worker of the city council office. The notes combine political and autobiographical threads with colorful observations of everyday life – from bourgeois customs and family life, through celebrations, to construction investments and the functioning of municipal church institutions.
Keywords: Silesia, memoirs, modern city, witch trials, everyday life
