the Award of the Association of College Publishers named after Edward Pudełko Most Accurate Editorial Robe 2019

The jury of the KLIO Award honored the „COMMUNICARE – Historia i Kultura” series published by us in cooperation with the Institute of Polish Culture of the University of Warsaw.
The award ceremony took place on November 28 during the solemn inauguration of the 28th Historical Book Fair.

Warsaw University Press have received GAUDEAMUS 2019 nominations from the Association of Higher School Publishers for two publications Archeologia zatroskania. Staropolskie kalendarze w działaniu, by Ada Arendt and Stalking i inne formy przemocy emocjonalnej. Studium kryminologiczne by Dagmara Woźniakowska-Fajst.
The nomination was handed out during the 23rd International Book Fair in Krakow.

Award of the Minister of Science and Higher Education in the Best Academic Book Competition for the volume Reformacja w Polsce a dziedzictwo Erazma z Rotterdamu by dr hab. Maciej Ptaszyński. The competition accompanied the Poznań Book Fair, which took place on March 1-3, 2019.

2018

Warsaw University Press received a nomination for the Award named after Wacław Felczak and Henryk Wereszycki for editing the book by Weronika Parfianowicz-Vertun Europa środkowa w tekstach i działaniach Polskie i czeskie dyskusje.

The Agreement of Historical Book Publishers awarded the KLIO Award in the editorial category to the Warsaw University Press for editing the book Korespondencja Fryderyka Chopina collected, edited and commented on: Zofia Helman, Zbigniew Skowron, and Hanna Wróblewska-Straus.

During the 22nd International Book Fair in Krakow, Warsaw University Press was nominated for the GAUDEAMUS Award - SWSW Award - Krakow 2018, for the publication Korespondencja Fryderyka Chopina 1831-1839. Tom 2, część 1 i 2 collected, edited and commented on: Zofia Helman, Zbigniew Skowron, and Hanna Wróblewska-Straus.

Publications Aleksander Gieysztor w pamięci i badaniach historycznych edited by Alicja Kulecka and Józef Polikarp Brudziński (1874-1917). Budował w dniach zamętu i zwątpienia… by Tadeusz P. Rutkowski were awarded an honorary diploma in the Competitiom named after Hanna Szwankowska for the best Varsaviana 2017/2018.
The awarding of diplomas took place on October 24, 2018 in the Conference Hall of the Public Library of the Capital City of Warsaw, at Koszykowa 26/28.

The book by professor Jerzy Dzik Biologia czyli sens życia received the ŻÓŁTA RÓŻA 2018 award for the best popular science book written in Polish, which serves the purpose of reliable dissemination of scientific knowledge and is distinguished by an outstanding literary form.
The award was announced on September 30 during the 22nd Science Festival in Warsaw.

Warsaw University Press received a distinction in the Most Beautiful Books of the Year 2017 Competition for the book Korespondencja Fryderyka Chopina 1831-1839. Tom 2, część 1 i 2 collected, edited and commented on: Zofia Helman, Zbigniew Skowron, Hanna Wróblewska-Straus and a special distinction in the ACADEMIA 2018 competition for the best academic and scientific publication for editing the same publication.
The results of the competitions were announced during the 12th ACADEMIA 2018 Academic and Scientific Book Fair at the PGE National Stadium.

In the competitions that accompanied the 22nd Poznań International Scientific and Popular Book Fair, Warsaw University Press received the main prize and two distinctions.
In the competition for the Award of the Association of College Publishers named after Edward Pudełko jury awarded the main prize for the publication Korespondencja Fryderyka Chopina 1831-1839. In the competition for the Best Academic Book for the JM Rector's Award of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, the jury awarded the distinction for publication Inkunabuły zawierające treści geograficzne w zbiorach polskich. Z dziejów komunikacji społecznej i naukowej w dawnej Polsce by Piotr Tafiłowski.

2017

Publications Dzieje Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego 1816−1915 edited by Tomasz Kizwalter and Dzieje Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego 1915−1945 and Dzieje Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego po 1945 edited by Piotr Maciej Majewski were awarded the honorary diploma in the Competition named after Hanna Szwankowska for the best Varsoviana 2016 2016.

During the Third Congress of Polish Foreign Studies Researchers, Professor Malte Rolfi received an honorable mention for the book „Imperiale Herrschaft im Weichselland Das Königreich Polen im Russischen Imperium (1864-1915)” [Rządy imperialne w Kraju Nadwiślańskim. Królestwo Polskie i cesarstwo rosyjskie 1864–1915].

Winner of the Award named after Jan Jędrzejewicz for the best Polish-language book on the history of science and technology was Jan Parafiniuk for the book "Dwa wieki nauk mineralogicznych na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim".
Among the books nominated for the award was the publication of Adela Kobelska "Miasto. Uniwersytet. Literaturoznawstwo. Poznań lat dwudziestych i trzydziestych XX wieku jako przestrzeń działania członków Koła Polonistów,"

Agata Łuksza's book "Glamour, kobiecość, widowisko. Aktorka jako obiekt pożądania" was nominated for the Upper Silesian Literary Award "Juliusz".

Warsaw University Press received the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology Award for the best academic publication in the field of technical and exact sciences for the publication "Grafen. Otrzymywanie, charakterystyka, zastosowania" by Andrzej Huczko, Agnieszka Dąbrowska and Magdalena Kurcz.
The competition results were announced on May 19 during the 11th ACADEMIA 2017 Academic and Scientific Book Fair at the PGE National Stadium.

We received two awards in competitions that accompanied the 21st Poznań Scientific and Popular Science Book Fair.
In the competition for the Best Academic Book we received a distinction for the publication "Uczeń czarnoksiężnika czyli społeczna historia marketingu" by Anna Giza, and in the competition for the Award of the Association of College Publishers named after Edward Pudełko for "Z lotu ptaka. Zdjęcia z balonu i latawca jako metoda dokumentacji archeologicznej" by Miron Bogacki. The competition results were announced on March 24, 2017.

2016

In the competition for the Award of the Association of College Publishers named after Edward Pudełko Warsaw University Press received the main award for the publication „Relacja pierwsza z ksiąg O obrotach Mikołaja Kopernika” by Jerzy Joachim Retyk, translated by Ignacy Lewandowski; introduction and commentary Jarosław Włodarczyk. The competition accompanied the 20th Poznań Book Days, not only Scientific.

Warsaw University Press received the "Academia 2016" Main Prize for the third volume of the monograph „Sztuka Burgundii i Niderlandów 1380-1500” titled „Wspólnota rzeczy: sztuka niderlandzka i północnoeuropejska 1380-1520” by Antoni Ziemba.
The competition results were announced on May 20 during the 10th ACADEMIA 2016 Academic and Scientific Book Fair at the National Stadium.

The Jury of the Competition for the Most Accurate Editorial Robe of the Scientific Book awarded the Warsaw University Press award for the book „O rzekomej, sfałszowanej donacji Konstantyna” by Lorenzo Valla. The competition accompanied the 22nd Wrocław Science Book Fair.

2015

We received two awards in competitions that accompanied the 19th edition of Poznań Not Only Science Book Days.
In the competition for the Best Academic Book we received a distinction for publication "Ekotoksykologia. Rośliny, gleby, metale" under the scientific editorship of Małgorzata Wierzbicka, and in the competition for the Award of the Association of College Publishers named after Edward Pudełko za publikację "Nanorurki węglowe. Otrzymywanie, charakterystyka, zastosowania" by Andrzej Huczko, Magdalena Kurcz, Magdalena Popławska. The competition results were announced on November 4, 2015.

The editors of the journal „Literatura na świecie” in the category: Translatology, Lexicography and Literary Sciences awarded the prize to Małgorzata Marcjanik for the book "Słownik językowego savoir-vivre'u”.

In the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology Award for the best technical book of didactic character - ACADEMIA 2015 - we received an honorable mention for the book by Andrzej Grzybkowski "Gotycka architektura murowana w Polsce". The competition results were announced on May 15 during the 9th ACADEMIA 2015 - Academic and Scientific Book Fair at the National Stadium.

The jury of the competition organized by the National Center for Culture for the best work in the field of the history of Polish music decided to award a distinction to Ms Irena Bieńkowska for her work: „Muzyka na dworze księcia Hieronima Floriana Radziwiłła”. The competition results were officially announced on May 17 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.


2014

Award of the Prime Minister - dr Jerzy Pysiak honored for his work "Król i Korona Cierniowa. Kult relikwii we Francji Kapetyngów"

KLIO II degree Award 2014 in the "Varsaviana" category
Book by Robert Gawkowski "Krybar. Uniwersytet w cieniu powstańczych walk" was awarded the Klio Award in the "Varsaviana" category.

Tytus Jaskułowski won in the 7th edition of the "Historical Book of the Year" competition for the Award named after Oskar Halecki. A book published by the Warsaw University Press "Przyjaźń, której nie było. Ministerstwo Bezpieczeństwa Państwowego NRD wobec MSW 1974-1990" was awarded in the category "The best scientific book on the history of Poland and Poles in the 20th century"

In the competition for the best academic and academic book - ACADEMIA 2014, we received the main prize for a book by Zofia Kielan-Jaworowska "W poszukiwaniu wczesnych ssaków. Ssaki ery dinozaurów"

Professor dr hab. Barbara Kosmowska-Ceranowicz for the book "Bursztyn w Polsce i na świecie" received the Golden Rose - the award for the best Polish book popularizing science. The award was presented on September 21, 2012 during the grand opening of the 16th Science Festival.


FENIKS Catholic Publishers Association Award in the category "Humanistic Thought" for the book "Litania i poezja. Na materiale literatury polskiej od XI do XXI wieku", by Witold Sadowski.

The book"Księstwo Warszawskie (1807-1815)" won the Golden Bee laurel in an editorial plebiscite Napoleon.org.pl for the best Napoleonic book published in 2011 in Poland.

The Jury of the Competition for the Most Accurate Editorial Robe of the Scientific Book awarded prizes to the University of Warsaw's publishing houses for two books:
1) "Teatra grodzieńskie 1784–1864 by Zbigniew Jędrychowski, graphic design – Katarzyna Niklas, Urszula Zalejska-Smoleń
2) "Europejczycy, Afrykanie, Inni. Studia ofiarowane Profesorowi Michałowi Tymowskiemu, scientific editors – Bronisław Nowak, Mirosław Nagielski, Jerzy Pysiak, cover design and title pages – Anna Gogolewska.
The competition accompanied the 18th Wrocław Scientific Book Fair.

Monograph of dr Patrycja Grzebyk "Odpowiedzialność karna za zbrodnię agresji", was awarded in the 18th competition named after Manfred Lachs for the best book publications of Polish authors in the field of public international law, published in Poland or abroad in 2010 (category: author's debut). The award ceremony took place on January 20, 2012.

Jury of the Award named after Jerzy and Hanna Kuryłowicz decided to award Anna and Marek Binder for the translation of the publication "Od mózgu do umysłu" by Chris Frith in 2011 r.

Professor Zbigniew Skowron for the book "Myśl muzyczna Jeana-Jacques’a Rousseau", and translating and editing, he was awarded the Polish Composers' Union Award in 2011.

2010

In the competition of the Polish Society of Book Publishers for the Most Beautiful Book of the Year 2010 in the section scientific books, popular science (humanities) the Prize was awarded to a book "Myśl muzyczna Jeana-Jacques’a Rousseau" by Zbigniew Skowron. The book design and graphic preparation was prepared by Maciej Buszewicz in cooperation with Melania Łuczak.

Stanisław Kubielas's book "Innowacje i luka technologiczna w gospodarce globalnej opartej na wiedzy" in 2010 received an award in the Competition of the Polish Economic Society named after prof. Edward Lipiński. The award is granted for a book bringing new values to the achievements of economic sciences in Poland.
Maciej Mycielski's book "Rząd Królestwa Polskiego wobec sejmików i zgromadzeń gminnych 1815-1830" received the Clio I Scientific Award in the category of scientific monograph in 2010.

We are pleased to announce that at the 16th Wrocław Scientific Book Fair "Ryszard II" by William Shakespeare in the graphic design of Maciej Buszewicz won the distinction in the competition for "The most accurate editorial robe of a scientific book".
Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Mencwel, editor of the series „COMMUNICARE – Historia i Kultura” was awarded the prize of the "Literatura na Świecie" journal in the "Publishing Initiatives" category in 2010.

2009

"Historia starożytnych Greków tom II, by Ewa Wipszycka, Benedetto Bravo, Aleksander Wolicki, Marek Węcowski, was recognized by internet users of Historia.org.pl as the "Best Historical Book 2009 from antiquity to the nineteenth century".

In the competition of the Polish Society of Book Publishers for the Most Beautiful Book of the Year 2009, the book "Korespondencja Fryderyka Chopina tom I, 1816-1831"edited by Zofia Helman, Zbigniew Skowron, Hanna Wróblewska-Straus received the distinction. Graphic design Maciej Buszewicz

The book "Konstytucyjne czynniki reform gospodarczych w krajach postsocjalistycznych"became the basis for the awarding of the 2nd individual prize of the Minister of Science and Higher Education in 2009 for the author dr Katarzyna Metelska-Szaniawska

At October 12, 2009 at 11.00 there was a ceremony of awarding diplomas to 7 winners of "The Best Varsaviana 2008/2009". The award is granted by the Society of History and Public Library Lovers of the Capital City of Warsaw. The ceremony took place in the building named after St. Kierbedziów, ul. Koszykowa 26. The prize went to Marek Czapelski's book "Bohdan Pniewski. Warszawski architekt XX wieku", while Kowalski Hubert received the nomination for „The Best Varsaviana 2008/2009” award for "Antyczne tradycje w dekoracjach rzeźbiarskich gmachów Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego przy Krakowskim Przedmieściu".

The second edition of the Historical Book Competition of the Year - announced by Telewizja Polska S.A., Polskie Radio SA and the Institute of National Remembrance - "Generał broni Stanisław Władysław Maczek (1892-1994)" was nominated in the Best Science Book category - devoted to the history of Poland and Poles in the 20th century

Nomination for the Gdynia Literary Award 2009 for book by Justyna Jaworska"Cywilizacja 'Przekroju'. Misja obyczajowa w magazynie ilustrowanym"

Distinction in the category of The Most Accurate Editorial Robe of the Scientific Book Wrocław 2009 for the book "Zapiski", author Witold Lutosławski. The cover, leaflets and cover pages were designed by an outstanding graphic artist Andrzej Dudziński.

2008

2nd degree KLIO Scientific Award in the category of scientific monographs 2008 for the book by Piotr Kroll "Od ugody hadziackiej do Cudnowa. Kozaczyzna między Rzecząpospolitą a Moskwą w latach 1658-1660"

Piotr M. Majewski received the prize Henryk Wereszycki and Wacław Felczak for the publication "Niemcy sudeccy 1848-1948. Historia pewnego nacjonalizmu". The competition is organized by the Faculty of History of the Jagiellonian University together with the Krakow Branch of the Polish Historical Society.

2007

The book by Zofia Kozłowska "O przekładzie tekstu naukowego (na materiale tekstów językoznawczych)" zwas nominated for an award in the "Competition for the best handbook and academic script 2007". The competition accompanies the 11th POZNAŃ SCIENCE BOOK DAYS.

Jury of the Award named after Jerzy Kuryłowicz awarded Dorota Sutkowska in 2007 a distinction for a particularly beautiful language of translation "Noworoczny podarek albo o sześciokątnych płatkach śniegu" by Johannes Kepler.

Prof. Andrzej Mencwel was nominated for the NIKE 2007 award for the book "Wyobraźnia antropologiczna"

2006

Dr hab. Antoni Ziemba for the book "Iluzja a realizm. Gra z widzem w sztuce holenderskiej 1580-1660" received a scientific award in the field of cultural history awarded in 2006 by the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Distinction in the category of The Most Accurate Editorial Robe of the Scientific Book Wrocław 2006 for the book "Mowa i moc obrazów. Prace dedykowane Profesor Marii Poprzęckiej". The author of the graphic design is the artist Marek Sobczyk.



Books "Dom sztuki. Siedziby artystów w nowoczesnej kulturze europejskiej" by Andrzej Pieńkos and"Iluzja a realizm. Gra z widzem w sztuce holenderskiej 1580-1660" by Antoni Ziemba were nominated for the Award named after Jan Długosz 2006.
