1863 – Source Editions from the 19th to the 21st Century
A collection of studies on the history of sources concerning the January Uprising (1863–1864), as well as contemporary initiatives to publish previously unknown materials. The authors analyse editorial traditions in Poland, Lithuania and Belarus from the 19th century to contemporary times, showing the development of research on diaries, correspondence and official documents. The publication presents both pioneering publishing ventures and contemporary digital projects. It emphasizes the importance of critical editions of sources for understanding history, culture and the social experience of the 19th century conspiracy.
